CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Branchburg, NJ 
 Responsibilities:  The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of finance and accounting throughout a growing organization, including responsibility for both parent company and various subsidiaries..  The CFO will take a leadership role in financial decision making and will provide strategic financial input to senior management and the board of directors.  The CFO will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the health of the company while aiding in its growth.   Specific essential functions include:
  • Finance
    • Oversee the Company’s treasury function  
    • Interface with the Company’s lenders and other financial partners  
    • Aid in the development of the Company’s financial and tax strategies
    •  Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, including identification of key variances and identifying potential corrective actions
    •  Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package  
    • Assist senior and mid-level management in establishing, tracking and analyzing KPI’s by functional area and across the organization    
    • Participate in key decisions, such as pricing, hiring and growth strategies; provide analytical support to inform these decisions
    • Aid in the analysis of capital expenditure requests
  • Accounting  
    • Manage financial controls and accounting procedures 
    • Ensure full financial and accounting transparency across the organization
    • Produce accurate and timely monthly financial statements and MD&A
    • Prepare the quarterly board package
    • Oversee A/R and A/P functions and help drive overall working capital efficiencies
    • Manage intercompany transactions and transfer pricing
  • Risk Management 
    • Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile; report risk issues to the board of directors
    • Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry
    •  Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
    • Ensure that BFI complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
    • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
    •  Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations 
  • Strategic
    • M&A – Aid in the financial diligence of potential acquisitios and play a key role on the post-acquisition implementation team  
    • ERP and Formula Management Software – Play a key role in the implementation of the Company’s ERP and Formula Management System
  • Management
    • Manage direct reports at various subsidiaries. 
    • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
    • Ensure that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood
Qualifications:  Successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  In addition, the following education and experience are required:
  • MBA preferred, BA required
  • A minimum of 10 years of financial and accounting leadership  
  • Experience in flavor or food ingredient industry preferred;  experience in food manufacturing will be considered
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Experience managing resources remotely preferred but not required
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and GAAP principles
  • Substantial “hands on” experience with ERP and reporting systems
  • Ability to travel as needed to subsidiary locations
